Abstract

The regime of a weak electric network  when starting the electric motor is considered when its power is comparable with the power of the network. To compensate the starting currents of the electric motor, it is proposed to use a device containing a bridge thyristor controlled reactive power compensator  and LC filters of higher current harmonics. A model of an electric network with an active-inductive load is considered, from which a direct start of an induction motor is carried out in the absence of a mechanical load on its shaft. The parameters of the TRK filter are selected. The currents and voltages on the elements of the model are analyzed. The advantages of using the" reactive power compensator-filter" device for the purpose of protecting the electrical equipment from starting currents and voltage drops, as well as guaranteed start of the electric motor are shown.
